Ffion Davies
Ffion Davies, born on January 18, 1995, in Swansea, Wales, is a world-renowned submission grappler and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) competitor. With a background in judo, where she was a national champion and member of the Wales Judo National team, Davies transitioned to BJJ and quickly made a name for herself. She holds black belts in both judo and BJJ and is known for her remarkable achievements on the international stage. She has won multiple IBJJF World Championships, including the no-gi championship in 2023 in both the 61 kg and absolute divisions, making her the first lightweight athlete to win double gold at the No-Gi World Championship.
Throughout her career, Davies has achieved numerous milestones, including being the first British/Welsh black belt world champion in both Gi and No-Gi, the first European to win the Brazilian Nationals, and the lightest-ever competitor to win the IBJJF European absolute division. As the head coach at Carlson Gracie Hull, she continues to inspire and lead the next generation of grapplers with her extensive knowledge and experience in the sport.
