Fabricio Werdum is a highly regarded Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter known for his achievements in the heavyweight division. He has competed in major MMA organizations including UFC, Pride, and Strikeforce. Werdum gained international fame in 2010 by submitting the previously undefeated Fedor Emelianenko in the first round.

• Trained with Chute Boxe in Brazil to improve his striking, teaching grappling to the team’s fighters in return.
• Became a ground coach for MMA star Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic.
• Joined and fought in Pride FC until its closure, then moved to the UFC.
• After a brief hiatus from the UFC, he joined Strikeforce and achieved a landmark victory by defeating Fedor Emelianenko.
