Henry Akins, a 3rd-degree black belt under the legendary Rickson Gracie, is known for his deep understanding of BJJ fundamentals and his ability to break down complex concepts into simple, applicable techniques. As the third American to receive a black belt from Rickson Gracie, Akins has a wealth of knowledge to share with the BJJ community.
During this two-day seminar, Akins will focus on both top and bottom half guard techniques in a no-gi setting. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from one of the most respected instructors in the BJJ world and gain valuable insights into the "hidden" aspects of Jiu-Jitsu.

Henry Akins
Henry Akins is a distinguished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) practitioner and instructor, holding a 3rd-degree black belt under the legendary Rickson Gracie. Recognized as the third American to receive a black belt from Rickson, he achieved this rank in 2004 after just nine years of dedicated training.
Akins served as the head instructor at Rickson Gracie's academy from 2005 to 2008, where he played a pivotal role in training high-level practitioners, including Rickson's son, Kron Gracie. His teaching emphasizes the fundamental principles of BJJ, focusing on the nuanced details that enhance technique effectiveness. Akins is known for revealing the "hidden" aspects of Jiu-Jitsu, which has earned him significant respect within the community.
In 2010, he founded Dynamix Martial Arts in Santa Monica, California, and later launched Hidden Jiu-Jitsu, an online platform designed to share his extensive knowledge with practitioners worldwide. Akins's courses are highly regarded for their clarity and depth, helping students understand complex concepts in a straightforward manner.
