Jason Rebsch
Jason Rebsch is a prominent figure in the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and law enforcement communities. He retired as a Lieutenant after 24 years of police service and is currently a black belt under Renzo Gracie. Rebsch is the head instructor and co-owner of Renzo Gracie Austin, where he received his black belt from Professor Brian Marvin in 2018 after training in BJJ since 2007.
During his law enforcement career, Rebsch held various positions including Patrol Sergeant, SRT Team Leader, and was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division. He was responsible for teaching Patrol, Active Shooter, and Defensive Tactics at his agency, demonstrating his expertise in both BJJ and law enforcement tactics.Rebsch is a Level 5 C4C-PJJ certified adjunct instructor under Chad Lyman, further showcasing his commitment to BJJ education. He is also the creator of BJJ Cop, an initiative aimed at encouraging police officers to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu by demonstrating its effectiveness in law enforcement situations.
In 2019, Rebsch co-founded the Invictus Movement with Ari Knazan to promote the importance of BJJ training for police officers and departments. This initiative, also known as the #BJJMakeItMandatory movement on social media, organizes BJJ seminars specifically for police officers across North America.
Rebsch's unique blend of law enforcement experience and BJJ expertise has made him a respected figure in both communities. He continues to train police officers around the country, advocating for the integration of BJJ into police training to improve officer safety and effectiveness.
