Fidel is a BJJ brown belt, former MMA fighter, and the head coach of CBD Siargao. With over 10 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience, Fidel brings extensive knowledge and passion to the mat. Born in the Philippines and raised in Seattle, he now calls Siargao home, fully embracing the surf-Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle. As a dedicated coach, Fidel's mission is to nurture young athletes who will proudly represent the island in the next generation.

Certified Surf Instructor

Aye "Carding" Catulay is a local legend and community leader, affectionately known as the "Style Master" and the "Gerry Lopez of the Philippines" for his unique style and interpretation of surfing. With over 20 years of experience, Carding holds an International Surfing Association accreditation as a surf coach, underscoring his expertise and commitment to the sport. As the proud owner of Kanaway Surf School, he teaches the physical aspects of surfing and shares his deep wisdom about the ocean and life, making every session an enriching experience.

Are minors allowed to attend this camp?
Yes, Minors can join the camp. A written agreement signed by a parent or legal guardian is required if a minor is joining without a parent or a legal guardian. Alternatively, the minor participant must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

How can I reach the camp location?
To reach the island of Siargao, start by flying into the Philippines through either MANILA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport - MNL) or CEBU (Mactan-Cebu International Airport - CEB). Once you arrive in the Philippines, take a domestic flight to Siargao's Sayak Airport (IAO).

Is accommodation included in the price of this camp?
Yes, accommodation is included in the price. You will be accommodated in the boutique beachfront resort with address: Malinao Road, Barangay Malinao, General Luna Surigao del Norte 8419. Transportation will be provided to and from the accommodation and activities.

Is laundry service available?
Yes, laundry is available at an additional cost. Laundry will be provided by one of the camp's partner merchants, Swell Wash. Pick-up and delivery are available, on a cash basis only.

Where will the trainings take place?
All the training sessions will take place at the Catangnan Beach Dojo, a locally-owned gym conveniently located just a 3-minute tuk tuk ride away from Harana Surf Resort. The dojo is about 15-minute drive from the accommodation. Transport service will be provided.

The Venues

Located just a short walk from the famous Cloud 9 surf spot, the dojo (known as Catangnan Beach Dojo) is the home of Siargao Jiu-Jitsu and the pioneer of Surf x BJJ lifestyle in the island. Transportation from and to accommodation will be provided for training and surf sessions.
