Transportation

We offer convenient transportation options to ensure a smooth start and end to your camp experience. On the first day, 25th of September, 2024, transportation will be available from the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki at 11:00 and from Thessaloniki Airport Makedonia at 12:00, directly to the camp. For your departure, on the last day, September 29th, 2024, transportation will be leaving from the camp at 11:00 directly to Thessaloniki Airport, and for those who want a ride to the city, the last stop will be the city center.

Facilities

Thalatta’ facilities ensure a high-quality stay and are easily accessible from all areas of the campsite.
These are the facilities at the camp: Doctors office, valuables storage, parking, luggage storage, showers, WC, washing machines, barbecue areas, courts etc. Accommodations will be shared with either only men or only women. 

• Standard Mobile Homes: For attendees seeking a more conventional accommodation option, the camp offers standard mobile homes. These homes are equipped with essential amenities, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
• Sea View Caravans: Offering stunning views of the sea, these caravans are perfect for participants who appreciate waking up to the sight of the water and enjoying the serene beauty of Chalkidiki’s beaches. They provide a comfortable and picturesque lodging experience.

Giancarlo Bodoni, born in Miami, Florida, is a distinguished professional jiu-jitsu competitor and a black belt under the esteemed Lucas Lepri. His jiu-jitsu journey began early in life, training in karate and taekwondo before transitioning to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the guidance of Rillion Gracie at the age of 12. Gracie, a respected member of the legendary Gracie family, mentored Bodoni from white to purple belt, shaping his foundational skills in the sport.

In 2017, Bodoni fulfilled his dream of training in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he formed a lasting bond with Gutemberg Pereira of GF Team. This relationship led him to train in Toledo, Ohio, further honing his skills. When his father moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, Giancarlo seized the opportunity to train with Lucas Lepri at the local Alliance gym. Lepri, one of BJJ’s greatest competitors, awarded Bodoni his brown belt in June 2018.

Bodoni's career reached new heights when he accepted a position as an instructor at Bernardo Faria’s Alliance gym in Bedford, Massachusetts. It was here that he secured notable achievements, including the 2019 IBJJF World No-Gi Championship and the 2020 IBJJF Pan Championship as a brown belt. His exceptional performance in these competitions earned him his black belt, which was awarded by Lucas Lepri on October 18, 2020.

Representing the Alliance Team, Giancarlo Bodoni has continued to excel, winning the ADCC in 2022 and multiple IBJJF Pan Championship titles. Known for his mastery of the closed guard, Bodoni competes in the pesado weight division (94.30 kg / 208.0 lbs) and remains a prominent figure in the jiu-jitsu community, inspiring practitioners of all levels.

What’s the age limit?

There are no age restrictions in place. However, if you are under the age of 18 and intend to travel unaccompanied, written consent from your parents or legal guardians will be required as a prerequisite.

I’m a complete beginner, can I still participate?

Absolutely! Our camps always attract participants of all levels and we do our best to make everyone feel welcome, both on and off the mats. We’ve even had participants who did their first ever Jiu Jitsu classes at the camps!

Can I bring my partner who does not do Jiu Jitsu?

Yes, non-training partners are most welcome at the camps too.

I’m not sure if I’m free on those dates yet and/or can’t afford to buy a ticket right now. Can I reserve a spot at the camp and pay later once I’ve made my decision/ saved enough money?

Sorry, but we can’t bookmark spots for people in advance. It would make it far too difficult to accurately determine how many spots are still available, and would cause additional confusion if people then cancel their reserved spots on short notice. To make it fair for everyone, we only secure camp spots for people who have bought a ticket.

I’ll be nearby during the dates of the camp. Can I drop in for just one day / one class / one open mat?

Unfortunately, this isn’t possible. The logistics of trying to keep track of day tickets for these camps would be a nightmare. Not to mention that if we allow one person to drop by, we have to allow everyone to drop by, and then we’d risk not having enough mat space for the people who actually paid for the full camp. Also, we often have a long waiting list for camp tickets, and it wouldn’t be fair to those people if we let someone skip the list and come for a day. Same deal for everyone!:-)

Will I receive a ticket in the mail?

There are no physical tickets for the camps. Your name is on our list when you arrive and check in.

I’m a complete beginner, can I still join?

Yes!! We have many hundreds beginners participate in our camps, every year.
