CAN I COME TO THE FESTIVAL BUT STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE?
Yes, you can. However, purchasing a weekly non-stay ticket in addition to another hotel accommodation might not save you much money. You might also miss out on the festival's unique vibe. But for locals from Mallorca, a non-stay ticket could be a practical choice.
I'M A SINGLE GUEST. CAN I SAVE MONEY BY SHARING A TWIN ROOM?
Great idea! If you can't bring a friend to share with, we'll help pair you with a same-sex roommate. We have an ongoing list. Simply book a twin/double room for one participant (yourself). Mention in the notes that you're looking to share. If we can't find a roommate for you, you'll enjoy the room solo at no extra charge.
ARE KIDS ALLOWED?
Absolutely! For more on family bookings and information regarding kids, click this link.
CAN I ATTEND THE FESTIVAL FOR LESS THAN 5 DAYS?
While you can leave early or arrive late, tickets are only available for the full 5-day experience. We encourage you to stay the full 5 days - it's worth it! If you'd like to add extra days after the festival, make that selection during booking. However, since the hotel season starts with our festival, you can't book days in advance.
WHAT'S THE FOOD SITUATION?
As long as you are a hotel guest, your ticket includes breakfast every morning, as well as dinner parties on the opening night (27th April) and closing night (2nd of May). Both meals feature paella, tapas, salads, seafood, vegetables, and much more, with beverages such as wine, beer, soda, bottled water, coffee, and tea. This arrangement leaves the three dinners in between and all lunches to your discretion. The hotel houses a restaurant offering various menu options, which may be more cost-effective than outside establishments. Camp de Mar boasts one of Mallorca's most renowned restaurants, the Illeta Restaurant, located on an island opposite the festival. Furthermore, Camp de Mar has a variety of beachside restaurants, each differing in price and quality.
I'VE NEVER TRIED BJJ OR YOGA. IS THIS FESTIVAL SUITED FOR ME?
At the Mallorca BJJ & Yoga Festival, you will find classes suitable for everyone, regardless of their experience level. Both BJJ and yoga are disciplines that can be practiced by anyone, irrespective of shape, size, age, fitness, or flexibility. Your practice can be tailored to your level, and there are classes for BJJ beginners each day. If you've ever considered trying BJJ or yoga, this festival offers the perfect immersion into these art forms. At our previous festivals held in October, we observed many yogis trying BJJ for the first time and BJJ players exploring yoga and participating in ceremonies. Step outside your comfort zone and experience something new!
MY PARTNER ISN'T INTO BJJ OR YOGA. CAN THEY STILL ATTEND?
Yes! There's so much more to do. The venue is a 4-star hotel situated directly by the sea, boasting a swimming pool and excellent service. Your partner will likely enjoy the array of complimentary aqua sports, delicious food, or perhaps just relaxing with afternoon siestas on the beach. However, they will still be required to pay the standard rate.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR IF I'M TRYING A NEW STYLE?
If you're considering trying BJJ for the first time, it's not essential to purchase a gi immediately. You should invest in your first gi when you're certain you want to continue learning the discipline. Introductory classes accommodate both gi and no-gi students, meaning you can attend wearing shorts or yoga pants and a t-shirt. New BJJ enthusiasts should be aware of the importance of keeping their fingernails and toenails trimmed short and removing watches and jewelry before participating. For BJJ practitioners looking to explore yoga, simply wear your typical no-gi attire. Remember to either leave your mobile phone outside the yoga studio or ensure it's switched off and stored away during the session.
HOW DOES THIS DIFFER FROM A YOGA RETREAT?
Our festival is about immersion and exploration. Expect a packed schedule of classes, workshops, and seminars, a variety of yoga styles, and multiple instructors.
I PREFER QUIET PRACTICE. WILL THE FESTIVAL BE TOO NOISY?
At the festival, expect non-stop action throughout the day with classes, workshops, and seminars. Rather than retreating, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the activities and absorb the vibrant energy everyone contributes. With a variety of yoga styles and a diverse group of instructors, it's all about exploration.
SHOULD I GET TRAVEL INSURANCE?
We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance to cover your trip. Given that this is an active vacation, it's essential to protect yourself. Additionally, ensure that your policy covers trip cancellations, especially since payments become non-refundable as the festival date approaches.
DO I NEED MY OWN YOGA MAT?
If you can pack your preferred mat, please do. However, we'll provide basic yoga mats and blocks at no charge.
HOW WILL MY DAYS UNFOLD AT THE MALLORCA BJJ & YOGA FESTIVAL?
That's entirely up to you! You have the freedom to engage as much or as little as you prefer. Whether you choose to practice throughout the day or relax by the pool or beach if you're feeling tired, the choice is yours. We'll establish a Facebook group for attendees, offering a chance to explore Palma or other parts of the island alongside fellow festival-goers. It's an excellent opportunity to forge new friendships.
WHERE CAN I DO MY LAUNDRY?
We offer a laundry service that arrives every morning at 09:00 to collect laundry and delivers it back the same day by 18:00. This service begins on the morning of April 28th, with the final drop-off at 09:00 on the 1st of May; items will be returned later that afternoon. For BJJ practitioners, we recommend ensuring a fresh Gi each day and suggest bringing 2 Gis. The prices for the laundry service is 20€ a full bag or 10kg. . There are significant savings when sharing your laundry bag. Note: All Gis are washed in cold water and air-dried, so they might not be entirely dry upon return.
CAN I EXTEND MY STAY?
Certainly! You can add days post-event if you (or your group) are above 15 years old, as the hotel is adult-only after the festival. If traveling with children, consider booking at another local hotel. Please note that you can't reserve days before the festival since the hotel season begins with our event.
