Karel "Silver Fox" Pravec

Karel "Silver Fox" Pravec is a renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) black belt and instructor, known for his technical expertise and innovative teaching methods.

Born in Czechoslovakia, Pravec moved to the US at a young age. He began martial arts with Taekwondo in 1986, earning a 3rd-degree black belt. In 1991, he attended his first BJJ seminar, sparking his interest in the art.

Pravec became one of Renzo Gracie's original students in the mid-1990s, training under Renzo and John Danaher. He earned his black belt from Renzo in 2006, later receiving his 3rd degree in 2015.

Despite starting competition late, Pravec has achieved notable success, including wins at the IBJJF European Open and NAGA World Championship.

In 2006, he opened Silver Fox BJJ in New Jersey, which has produced accomplished competitors. Pravec is known for his "Fluid BJJ" concept and water training techniques.

He has authored a book on BJJ, created instructional videos, and developed unique training methods.
