Owen Livesey
Owen Livesey (born August 3, 1991) is a a professional Brazilian jiu jitsu black belt , a distinguished British judoka, submission wrestler, and mixed martial artist hailing from St Helens, Merseyside. With over four decades of martial arts experience, Livesey has made a significant mark in various disciplines.
Judo Career: Livesey competed at an international level for Great Britain and England, achieving notable success in judo. He won a gold medal in the men's 81kg judo category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. A 2nd dan black belt, he has been a three-time champion of Great Britain, securing titles in 2013, 2014, and 2017. Livesey initially trained at SKK Judo Club under the guidance of Peter Blood and Luke Preston.
Submission Grappling and Catch Wrestling: Transitioning from judo, Livesey found success in submission grappling and catch wrestling. He won the heavyweight division at the 2022 Catch Wrestling World Championships and has competed in prestigious events such as Polaris Pro Grappling and Grapplefest. Livesey's grappling prowess earned him a spot as the official alternate for the under 99kg division at the 2022 ADCC World Championship.
Mixed Martial Arts: Livesey made his professional MMA debut in April 2021, securing a first-round TKO victory over Liam Gregory.
Owen Livesey continues to compete and influence the martial arts world, combining his expertise in judo, grappling, and MMA to inspire and train the next generation of fighters.
Julia Scardone
Julia Scardone is one of the leading female martial artists and instructors in the UK. Born in Brazil, she is a judo black belt and Brazilian jiu-jitsu purple belt who competes at the highest levels. In addition to her competitive achievements, Julia runs her own martial arts club, sharing her extensive knowledge and passion with others. She is a champion in English, Scottish, and Northern Ireland Judo Open competitions and is dedicated to encouraging more women to participate in martial arts. With over 20 years of experience in judo and five years in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Julia is a technically brilliant and truly dedicated all-around champion.
La Nucia, Spain
